GALENSKAP plockar in bozz

"It's great fun to join GALENSKAP, I'm looking forward to team up with dohfOs again (we were in the same team in vCoD) and I believe that we, together with the other guys can go far. GALEN itself suited me just great since there allready was 3 other guys in the team living in the same city so we can bootcamp often without any problems. Now I'm just looking forward to start playing and working on our teamplay!"

En ny GALEN lineup
:
Sverige Martin "dohfOs" Lundén
Sverige Olle "Bele" Ringström
Sverige Nikola "LakOni" Simovic
Sverige Adis "ado" Nuhanovic
Sverige Kenneth "bozz" Olstad

one2 answered the call

One2, known to most from their dominant time in the early stages of ET:QW (both as One2 and Copenhagen e-Sports) and being unbeaten in BF2142 have taken another step.

After the sucess with rebuilding the ET:QW-team a decision was made that we were gonna switch scene, from ET:QW to the newly released Call of Duty 4. CoD4 have so far met our expectations and the future looks bright indeed. And as the ET:QW-scene just kept falling apart this seemed to be the correct move for us.

One2 CoD4 lineup
Joakim 'Numse' Åberg (Team Captain)
Martin 'dohfOs' Lundén
Tobias 'empee' Jansson
Simon 'Keno' Eriksson
Tobias 'Murre' Balenius
Anton 'saxs' Malmberg

empee and Keno are both new to the team since our move to CoD4, but since we know them from before I think they'll merge with the others just fine.

My ( dohfOs) comment about One2:
After junk52.etqw fell apart and my best mate Guru left for Thailand, One2 seemed like the best choice for me. And after playing for quite awhile together with the guys I knew I was here to stay and once Numse made up his mind about moving to Call of Duty 4 it was an easy decision for me. At the time being there is nothing left for me in ET:QW and even though I loved the gameplay of ET:QW, it lacked in so many other aspects I find it almost impossible to continue playing it until some kinda saviour arrives.

With One2.CoD4 we're aiming high. I think we got the potential to suprise the whole scene with some good results even though it's hard to say were we stand at the moment as we don't have a single former CoD2-player with us but it feels like we're in great shape and soon ready for some real action.

junk52.etqw folds

In August Junk52 ETQW-section was announced, now, months later Junk52.ETQW is folding.

Reasons for this are many, but it all started with Murre who decided to leave the team for One2, mainly because junk52 weren't 100% swedish, but his new team was. This later on led to the just recent departure of our tanker Dranzer, leaving junk52 for the uk-based team point-blank as he felt we wouldn't manage to rebuild the team even though we tried.

With Murre and Dranzer gone, still fighting for the junk52-tag were dohfOs, Guru, Snejk and Jaede, and with Guru leaving in a month for a life long dream, travel around the world (or well, just asia), we would be down to just 3 (until Guru comes back home) and without a tanker. All in all it would be a mission impossible for us to rebuild the team and to get the talent to the team that we needed to remain as a top team. Therefor Junk52.ETQW is now sadly folding.

We want to thank the whole of Junk52 Theatre, players and management, our many opponents throughout Beta2, Demo and this first month of retail, the ones supporting us from the outside. We would also like to say sorry to the opponents and various admins that also get affected by this, but in the end we had no choice but to fold. Last but not least we wanna wish the best of luck to Junk52.ET in the EuroCup-playoffs.

What happends now to those who's now standing without a team is yet to be known. But all of us will remain in the scene waiting for new challenges that may arise.

Junk52.ETQW in retail were:
Mike 'Dranzer' Büsing (Team Captain)
Bart 'Jaede' Van Remortele
Martin 'dohfOs' Lundén
Erik 'Guru' Staffans
Johan 'Snejk' Svensson
Tobias 'Murre' Balenius

The Day The Routers Died

The Day The Routers Died... a song performed by the secret-wg in the closing plenary of the RIPE 55 conference

a long long time ago
i can still remember
when my laptop could connect elsewhere

and i tell you all there was a day
the network card i threw away
had a purpose - and worked for you and me....

But 18 years completely wasted
with each address we've aggregated
the tables overflowing
the traffic just stopped flowing....

And now we're bearing all the scars
and all my traceroutes showing stars...
the packets would travel faster in cars...
the day....the routers died

Chorus (ALL!!!!!)

So bye bye, folks at RIPE 55
Be persuaded to upgrade it or your network will die
IPv6 just makes me let out a sigh
But I spose we'd better give it a try
I suppose we'd better give it a try

Now did you write an RFC
That dictated how we all should be
Did we listen like we should that day

Now were you back at RIPE fifty-four
Where we heard the same things months before
And the people knew they'd have to change their ways....

And we - knew that all the ISPs
Could be - future proof for centuries

But that was then not now
Spent too much time playing WoW

ooh there was time we sat on IRC
Making jokes on how this day would be
Now there's no more use for TCP
The day the routers died...

Chorus (chime in now)

So bye bye, folks at RIPE 55
Be persuaded to upgrade it or your network will die
IPv6 just makes me let out a sigh
But I spose we'd better give it a try
I suppose we'd better give it a try

I remember those old days I mourn
Sitting in my room, downloading porn
Yeah that's how it used to be....

When the packets flowed from A to B
via routers that could talk IP
There was data..that could be exchanged between you and me....

Oh but - I could see you all ignore
The fact - we'd fill up IPv4

But we all lost the nerve
And we got what we deserved!

And while...we threw our network kit away
And wished we'd heard the things they say
Put all our lives in disarray

The day...the routers died...

Chorus (those silent will be shot)

So bye bye, folks at RIPE 55
Be persuaded to upgrade it or your network will die
IPv6 just makes me let out a sigh
But I spose we'd better give it a try
I suppose we'd better give it a try

Saw a man with whom I used to peer
Asked him to rescue my career
He just sighed and turned away..

I went down to the net cafe
that I used to visit everyday
But the man there said I might as well just leave...

And now we've all lost our purpose..
my cisco shares completely worthless...

No future meetings for me
At the Hotel Krasnapolsky

and the men that make us push and push
Like Geoff Huston and Randy Bush
Should've listened to what they told us....
The day...the routers....died

Chorus (time to lose your voice)

So bye bye, folks at RIPE 55
Be persuaded to upgrade it or your network will die
IPv6 just makes me let out a sigh
But I spose we'd better give it a try
I suppose we'd better give it a try

junk52 in retail

1 week ahead of the etqw release we decided it was time for some changes in our lineup. this meant we wouldn't have a full lineup for awhile but now, after quite alot of work we've finally found the ones we've been looking for to complete the lineup of Junk52 Theatre.

with Snejk (former xGx) being promoted from a backup player to a regular team member and with the new addition of Murre things are starting to look good.

this makes the following lineup:
Mike 'DranzerXTC' Büsing (Team Captain)
Bart 'Jaede' Van Remortele
Martin 'dohfOs' Lundén
Erik 'Guru' Staffans
Johan 'Snejk' Svensson
Tobias 'Murre' Balenius

we will be participating in the following tournaments during the upcoming weeks:
ESL Major Series (swedish qualifier)
ESL Opening Cup 6v6
ESL Opening Cup 4v4
CB OpenCup Fall 2007

dohfOs etqw config

sharing my config for enemy territory: quake wars (etqw). i wouldn't say it's _that_ great but with this config i have approx 120-200 fps (it's unlocked). notice that if you drive the titan u have to change the g_fov "110" to "90" (default) otherwise it's bugged as hell.

--> DOWNLOAD HERE <--
updated 1/10 -07

what you need to do in steps:
1. go to your "C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\My Documents\id Software\Enemy Territory - QUAKE Wars"-folder.
2. make a safety-copy of your "base" and "sdnet"-folder and put it somewhere else.
3. remove your old "base" and "sdnet"-folders from "C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\My Documents\id Software\Enemy Territory - QUAKE Wars" (if it's still there).
4. unrar/zip my config (that you've just downloaded) into that very same folder.
5. rename the "yourusernamehere"-folder (inside sdnet) to whatever your username is.
6. log into the game and sort your settings (binds, sensitivity, name etc).
7. beg to god it worked out allright. if not, just delete what you just did and go back to the old files i told you to make a safety-copy of - or, try again.

if u do not follow these steps i cannot promise stuff will look and work as they do for me. so that's ofcourse up to the downloader.
